18th Century Italian Inlaid Pedestal Commode
18th century Italian Inlaid Pedestal Commode has one drawer and is made of fruitwood in a hexadecagon shape. The top is inlaid with boxwood double line string inlay. The border has double string inlay surrounding a center medallion which has a crest with stylized lion and bell with opposing lions having etched bone heads. The body is inlaid with light fruitwood, arabesques and urns, etched bone flowers, and whimsical children. The hexadecagon stream support is inlaid with rosewood and fruitwood inlaid rays terminating in a trapezoid shaped inlaid platform base with three carved paw feet.
